How to tell if im socially stupid or ND

Most countries use the DSM V-TR to determine neurodivergence. If you look up ASD or ADHD in the DSM V-TR it'll give you the diagnostic criteria. If you meet with a therapist/clinician they're trained in identifying symptomology and would likely be able to identify within 1-2 sessions, however, depending on your state/local policies they may not be able to formally diagnose if symptoms are present.

Im hesitant whether i should bother getting tested
Because no matter the outcome, im still the same person, autistic or not.

From a practical perspective, there's not much reason to if you're an adult. ASD diagnoses can assist in getting school accommodations, but besides that there's not much other benefit to a confirmed diagnosis. Autism isn't exactly "treated" in the way that other mental health conditions are. Whether you are or not doesn't really impact your daily life. If your personal goals are related to socialization, intimate relationships, improved communication, etc, you don't need a diagnosis to work on those things.

yes that's true you are the same person but you still learn something from it, for example I thought like that before I went to get my autism diagnosis too, but afterwards it was a good feeling because I had always tried to keep up with NT people and forced myself to do stuff which I can't do like NT people, and that caused me to have crazy burnouts or I felt suicidal afterwards, I forced myself to do that because I thought I would get used to it and that I'm like this because I spent to much time at home, and now after the diagnosis I can handle stuff diferent because I know I'm ND

Genuinely how can i tell?
I could tell I was ND just by looking back at my past experiences on how I act with people and stuff. I have friends who are both ND and NT and although I can vibe with both, I find it harder to fit in and connect with the NTs. Throughout my years though nothing really changed other than me becoming more self aware and insecure ngl. As for my social skills it has definitely gotten worse because of this :Smirk:
