Title, i wonder how different people around here call eachother. You might also use your first language, if it's not english, just translate it and explain the meaning!

Personally, the most common word i use is "skarbie", which roughly translates to "my treasure". When referring to her on english forums - such as this - i'll use "lady"

Haha, this reminds me of a guy i used to know IRL, his last name was messed to be "armpit" (translation from "pacha").

Moon is a very cute nickname.

As in make them more stylized beyond the simple color (e.g. gradient)?

OG Veterans can pick their own custom color in settings if you'd prefer.

Thats a cool feature, I really find this forum unique and different from others, I lowkey want more people in here

It depends on whether you want to go for simplicity or flashiness, i think simple colors are great for 'memorization' of what they mean and are just simply nice on the eyes, while flashy colors while being cool might make the site more confusing. These reasons are always why forums use simple colors for NON-VIP users.

That being said, i can't wait untill a year passes and i can flex my og veteran color.

It has fine colors but it becomes weird because they become permamently unlocked once the treshhold is reached.

This is both cool - because there's more customisation and freedom.. and confusing - because users with 10000 posts can equip colors for 500 posts, which always makes you double check.

Fortunately the site is 'small' enough that everyone knows eachother by username alone anyway, so it's not that much of an issue. I think the permamently unlocked thing is a cool idea but it's very hard to execute without being SOMEWHAT confusing.

One way to do is, is give certan post treshholds "sets" of colors, for example:

- 500 posts gets pink, blue, green
- 1000 posts gets even more different colors
- 2000 posts gets gradient colors
- 5000 gets neon colors

etc..

I'm just spitballing here tho, so take it with a grain of salt.

On .com I prefer that method personally, and it's something we implemented on here, it's mainly the only way to "unlock" colors without VIP or being an OG Vet. Colors are purely cosmetic and so users would want to switch for profile themes, so we'd have no reason to restrict that after you gain more posts. In my opinion, users do not need a visual distinction between post count mainly just because we have the "messages:" statistic public on mini profile cards, so users already tell at a glance how many posts a user has.

This feature originally stemmed from sites like .is and .org, because there's a cultural "predisposition" to point out newbies (the whole point of being called a "greycel", because their username is the default grey), and is mainly used to outcast outsiders from entering the space. This concept goes against the culture we're trying to aim for which is why we didn't implement the static color progression and instead of used it as an "reward" system, similar to trophies.

Most sites don't have a system like this because it usually doesn't make sense to, it's solely a cultural thing on these other sites.
