If she makes food that includes a protein but doesn't include vegetables, focus on where you can find fiber to make up the difference.
You can eat plenty of "unhealthy" food as long as you're also getting your nutrition needs met. Look for fiber and protein where you can, be somewhat mindful of calories and sugar intake, and use carbs for energy.
