idk if this is water or not but i feel like ive never heard anyone talk about it
but as a girl i always hear my friends showing eachother the guys they’re talking to (obviously good looking) and ofc some part of chasing a gl guy is because they enjoy being with someone handsome (most of the time out of their league) for their own pleasure but also a big part of it that i notice is so they can show him off to other girls, in the hopes they become somewhat jealous ig? maybe not jealousy but idk what else to call it tho, they just want other girls to be impressed yk

Its def an ego boost if a girl is dating a chad out of her looksmatch for example so they can show to their friends or everyone that it is possible. Either that or they just wanna make people envy of what they have (hence making hypergamy worse):Heartburn:

they don't really gaf that much tho they just genuinely find him attractive so they like him and want him

if all her friends thought he was ugly it wouldn't change much if hes objectively top1% in her eyes

Women and some guys (emphasis on some) will genuinely break up with someone because of what their friends think
My last oneitis used to laugh when her friends insulted me behind my back, then would tell me and frame it like she defended me. Like I didn't have her acc and see her just laugh along and say "true" sometimes
Like status matters alot.
If you dated a lady who to you looked like a true stacy, but to everyone else she looked sub 2, and your kids with her would look true adam/eve to you but subhuman to everyone else, would you date her?
