I have had blackheads all around my nose for probably a year now, i’ve tried so many skincare routines but am sticking with my current one now: cleanse+moisturizer +tretinoin+moisturizer at night
salicylic acid+moisturizer+sunscreen IN THE MORNING, going to post myself on photo advice eventually, just want my skin to be fixed. open to recommendations

does the blackhead nose strip method works or is it bs?

what most people think are blackheads on their nose are actually sebaceous filaments. they’re just excess sebum inside your pores that oxidizes and looks darker

the best way to get rid of them is using a clay mask 2-3 times a week
u can buy facial clay at a pharmacy, it’s cheap
Just take a little bit of clay, mix it with water until it has a sour cream-like consistency, apply it to your face, leave it on until it starts drying, then wash it off.

ive also seen influencers recommend using a cleansing oil because sebum is basically skin oil, so it dissolves really well with another oil.
i don’t use it though because you have to wash your face with cleanser again afterward, and using too many products ruins my skin barrier.

So I’d recommend trying gray clay.

And about blackhead strips
they’re a scam from 2016☠️

also if you steam your face with a warm, wet towel before using the clay mask, your pores will open up and they’ll get cleaned even better

I’ve tried this with the ordinary clay mask, perhaps not enough usage, tmrw i will try and in the upcoming weeks.

Avoid nose strips, it will just make it worse long term. A good cleanser works. Kiehl’s rare earth deep pore cleanser worked well for me, nearly all of mine are gone now.

are u sure they are blackheads and not sebaceous filaments?

I’ve got both, there’s a few blackheads on my upper cheek area but sebaceous filaments on my nose. One of my relatives had blackheads on her nose, and this cleanser helped with hers significantly. It’s gotten rid of most of my blackheads on my upper cheek and there’s been a big difference since using it. It also manages my sebaceous filaments quite well.

which cleanser is it?

definitely filliments but still don’t know how to get rid of
ah okay then
unfortunately those are normal and you can never 100% get rid of them only attempt to reduce their appearance
your current routine sounds great, if youre not seeing the results u wanted then either u have unrealistic expectations or you just have bigger pores genetically (brootal bp pill)
have u ever tried double cleansing? it could be too stripping considering that youre already using tret and SA but it might do something idk
