Do you believe something because you want it to be true?


Ex: Carnivore dieter gets a blood test done, his hpa1c is high(prediabetic), he says: "Oh its because i just have alot of red bloodcells"


So, is something true because you have looked deeply into it, or just because it would be convenient for you?

Hundred percent lol. It's just human nature, and can't really be helped most of the time. For me though it was with a relationship where i got treated pretty bad and I didn't want to believe it. so yeah, most of the time it's pretty subconcious.

I think it's human nature , religion is a good example most people of religion don't look that deep into it they usually want it to be true because a paradise with eternal happiness after death seems good i used to believe in god myself but I don't now

that's a really good example. from what i've seen a lot of people follow religion pretty much just because their parents are religious. I mean if their parents weren't born in a place where that's the main religion then they probably wouldn't be that religion lol. i used to be religious myself, and let's be honest who wouldn't want to believe in eternal paradise lol

that's like saying religions something like a race lol depending on where you're from rather than a belief haha

The human brain is extremely complex and the unfortunate reality is that you never truly know what is real and what isn't. For all you know everything you think you know is actually false, and maybe everything you think you own is a figment of your imagination.

The best thing to do is to reach out to other people when you're in doubt of your own thoughts.
