Hey. So it’s results day today. I’ve received my offer and I’m satisfied with my results. However, all lot of my friends want to go out and go clubbing. I’m trying to get up for it but it’s truly just not my thing. It’s too loud and highk overstimulating. I want to spend some good time with my friends on a happy occasion, but I just struggle so bad and I hate it so much. How do I overcome this? People expect me to be there and I don’t like disappointing my friends. Any advice?

Drummers often use very specific types of in-ear ear protection designed to alter but not eliminate noise. They're very different than standard ear plugs. You can get a good pair for like $10. Game changer. I bring them with me whenever I go to concerts or sports venues to minimize my overstimulation.

Additionally, if your friends want you there, you can go without the commitment of staying. Show up, be friendly, muscle through an hour, go home. If they're good friends, they'll recognize it's hard for you and appreciate you doing what you can to be present with them.

Thankyou. I find it embarrassing because I struggle to process how I’m feeling. I have to put a lot of mental prep into every night out, for something that everyone else calls ‘fun’ or ‘casual’. I’ve tried explaining to my mum but she says I’m overthinking it. I don’t know what’s wrong with me.
