mental health

first of all, do a detox from social media, there’s nothing useful there. constantly comparing yourself and your life to people online will drive you insane
second, focus on yourself, your sleep, your nutrition, your mental development and so on. There’s no point in putting energy into things you can’t control, instead direct it toward what you actually can change
third remember that after hardship always comes relief

When referring to mental health, people are usually specifically addressing emotion regulation. The standard recommendation for emotion regulation is always consistency. Consistent sleep, consistent cardiovascular exercise, consistent nutrition. Humans are pretty resilient and can adapt to most things as long as they're consistent.

Otherwise instead of trying to calm down, the most practical approach is usually to slow down. Slow your pace where you can. You body calms, followed by your mind. Many people use breathing for this but the same can be done by doing your routines intentionally slower. Eating, brushing your teeth, picking up your phone after you hear a notification, just do it slow.

meditations by Marcus Aurelius is a really good book, like advice from a father to his son. i really recommend it.
It’s easy to read, no complicated language, and its just short thoughts, so you can start anywhere.
ive probably reread it like 10 times in my life.. it’s just a masterpiece. It calms me down..
