nah just healthcare, 12 hour shifts

i do a lot for my pay LOOOL. at nights i mostly do changes or assistance with toileting, checking on residents to make sure theyre ok, redirecting since they sundown quite a bit, laundry, cleaning their rooms, changing their beds, setting up the kitchen for day shift since they prepare and serve meals, set the tables for day shift as well, restock some supplies, manage call alerts, document all behaviors and physical symptoms, pass and assist with medicine - to name a few

yeah i work specifically in memory care, so most of it is me reassuring the residents theyre ok and safe. all elderly. ive seen i think a single person with dementia who was NOT elderly at my old job. my old job just abused me tho goddamn. 25 residents every shift, terrible shit

yeah that's most of the job tbh. i don't mind, i was a caregiver for family and flint and i have an incredibly extensive family history of Alzheimer's, so i am attentive and make sure theyre clean even if it feels somewhat disturbing or intimate for other aides. when i get Alzheimer's i want somebody to do the bare minimum of making sure im clean

They're so adorable I wish that I could go into a nursing home and play with all of the old people hehe

i figured i would get the ball rolling and start guide's first ever steps challenge!

here's the rules:
- you need to sign up before april, final day for sign ups is march 31st
- check-ins need to be at least once a week on sundays. any more than that is optional and encouraged but not required.
- i recommend attaching some type of screenshot for your steps, but this is actually going to be optional. if you wanna larp and fudge the numbers, that's a personal choice.

the goal will be 5k a day or 35k a week.
if you wanna add an additional goal to keep the true thrill and excitement alive... make a personal water goal! woohoo, thrilling, aint it?

there are no cosmetic rewards or anything, im hoping to start small and see where it goes from there.
