Hi everyone. I figured id go ahead and start up a comics thread since i didn't see one, doesn't really matter whether if its marvel, dc, image, or even indie, whatever you're into, drop it here! Also feel free to share what you're reading, maybe some underrated picks, your fav runs of all time, or just talk comics. Ive been looking for recommendations myself since I'm trying to read more.

Currently i have a couple of favorites which happen to be the boys & invincible, daredevil ( frank millers run absolute classic), and for last nightwing compendium honestly i think its filled with beautiful artwork if you're into a high energy feel, I know the 90s style goes both ways for some people, but its my personal preference.

I don't really read comics only mangas and manhwas (toes who nose 18+) but u mentioned nightwing and i kept seeing TUFF EDITS of him recently on tiktok coz he MOGS LIKE A CHAD so should i try hopping on? Idk anything much about comics or how to start but i feel like i should give nightwing a try so i can LARPMAX As for invincible and the boys i only watch the show but i havent watch the latest season for both

Dude it doesnt hurt to try especially since the nightwing compendium isnt even that pricey. its a really great starting point if you wanna get into comics lmaoo, the edits of him are so hard bruh ive been seeing them too ALL OVER my FYP ( hes the goat its ok) whats kept you from the new watching the boys and invincible? i finished the invincible newest season and honestly theres many plotholes but its still an okay adaptation. The boys on the other hand i felt the writting shifted a bit after certain events.. im a little just curious about ur favorite the boys character if thats not asking tm

I usually read comics of popular media that got an animated/real life adaption.

For example, i read invincible after watching the second season, i finished it before the third came out, but i did procrastinate it a bit.

I also tried reading the boys but realised the book is as much of a goyslop as the series is, so i never finished it.

I read watchmen from DC as a graphic novel, but that's not really a niche recommendation. I think it's famously known for being very good.

I didn't read much else, skimmed through if anything. Not much of a reader.

Thats totally okay man to each their own! Regarding Invincible, yeah, reading the comics to bridge the gap while waiting for s3 is the best move. not liking the boys is also soo understandable ( especially considering how much darker the comics are compared to the show) i actually despised at first too till i gave it a 3rd chance for good luck so I get it. and dont worry, watchmen is a classic for a reason. recs dont necessarily need to be niche for you to have good taste! glad u were open to chatting about it

Currently reading absolute superman, this comic book store nearby reups pretty consistently so i been reading good. besides superman im currently reading absolute martian manhunter and the punisher. how about you?

Yes given the ones you are currently reading you would not regret reading it, they share very similar harsh and dark tones and underlying themes. basically what whole series is focuses on is supermans isolation. it really makes him feel more real and adds a good sense of depth and vulnerability to his character which is eerie but i really enjoy it

if i have to pick a universe for the perfect spiderman has to be the insomniac 2018 one, that game and story was so perfect to me was mad disappointed on the rushed spiderman 2 game, gameplay wise tho its pretty fun

i might have to start up a facebook account just to acess that markerplace, what a friggin steal bro. yeah tbh spiderman is so much cooler when he actually has some edge and calls people out instead of having a sidekick vibe. Everything about the 2018 game is so peak, the insomniac version actually gives him some backbone, letting him be funny without losing his maturity. on the other hand, and unfortunately so spiderman 2 just completely sold the momentum smh
