Ok guys i just came back from the appointment and holy im chopped max. So yeah its confirmed i have a bimaxillary protrusion so i need to extract 4 of me teeths to retract the protrusion teeths back and also extract 4 of my wisdom teeth. Thing is would this fuck me up or nah? And i gotta choose either DAMON or TRADITIONAL braces so which one mogs for more aesthetics results?:CatStare:

bet thanks shame i mean im enlisting in my national service next week so i can highkey abuse the free wisdom extraction + MC LEAVE 🤤🤤. But would u recommend damon or traditional? I know ure using traditional so how is it like? Is it comfortable and shit like ur experience and do u think the aesthetics results would be the same if u were to use damon?
Not sure honestly. The fact they're letting you choose besides pick for you is new. Not sure if it's usually an option but usually they decide which one would work best for your situation.

I'll be honest, braces was/is way more miserable than anyone else has made it out to be. Not as much anymore as I've been a year into it, but people made it seem like it was an easy process. It...
Wait are they trying to extract 8 teeth or are the 4 teeth just wisdom teeth?

btw did u do any extractions for ur braces or any expanders? and which braces did u get and for long exactly since ure 24 yo?

8 is a lot, I would get a second opinion if you haven't already.

Most dentists try to avoid pulling so many teeth for braces because they've found that pulling two premolars usually gets the same results (the standard used to be all of your wisdom teeth). I see your wisdom teeth probably need to get removed in general but the additional 4 afterwards is a bit unusual. I guess looking at the X-ray they're pretty compacted as is so there's not that much room left to move them around. I'd still consider double checking though. Once they're pulled that's it, you can't get them back.

2 years just traditional braces, still currently doing treatment. The first two dentists I saw recommend pulling all of my wisdom teeth but the last three I saw just recommended pulling two premolars, which is what I ended up doing. So I only got two extracted. I actually had pretty bad eruption so most of my teeth were actually in my gumline. Feels kinda weird to have them all downwards now.

also heres another pic side view so u can see my teeth is protuding outwards causing my lips to flare coz of the bimaxillary protrusion and it causes the illusion that my chin is recessed (i plan to do fillers after ortho). So idk i mean the logic of extracting so that it can retract back seems logical but would it cause recession?

Hmm yeah. I guess it'd make sense to remove four, it does look pretty compacted. But it's hard to say, usually removing four of your wisdom teeth would create some room. I would still shop around to double check, most dentists will do an exam for free. But the side profile does make it seem less suspicious lmao.

I've actually spoken about it here. I actually originally deleted this thread but I've opened it up for you to review if you wanted to. I planned on posting an updated version here: https://forum.looksmaxxing.com/threads/my-suffering-with-braces.46089/

Yeah my ortho suggested either invisilign or traditional but i asked for damon instead coz its faster and better in terms of the self ligating shit and also less frequent visits so it can tie to my schedule. And im doing this as an adult as well bruh im 21 bouta be 22 ☠️😭

Shit I undeleted it now.

A lot of people get it done as kids, most of the people who told it was easy also got it done as kids so I don't know if it's easier as a child or what.

My post is a bit dramatic with hindsight but the pain I experienced at the time was genuinely so miserable. Now that I've been a year into it I almost forgot how bad it used to be.

My teeth roots were kind of long too, not sure if that also played a factor in why teeth extraction sucked so badly.

The thread works now its awesome i bookmarked it too. Also yeah i think its definitely easier as kids (most people say it too) coz they are still developing so it can shape them very well. Anyways thanks again shame if anything ill update

Extracting 8 teeth is insane but if ur ortho says it , it's probably not that bad but if u want go to another ortho and check if they have the same opinion I went to multiple orthos to check what they said

Yeah i mean this one was the third ortho i went to and suprisingly its better than the previous 2 (i had trauma from it coz of how egoistical they were) and they all did pretty much say the same thing to extract in my case. Then of course i also asked my best friends CHATGPT, GEMINI, CLAUDE FABLE 5 and GROK on ts and yeah they all said to extract too but regarding the braces some says traditional some says damon so im not to sure which to prefer yet but im leaning towards damon.

Damon is better I think but research more into it
