Information gym and height

It's a myth. The whole "If you go to the gym you will get shorter" and “it harms growth plates” thing is logical but has not been scientifically proven. The consensus among major health organizations is that strength training is safe for teens and has no effect on height.
The only real risk is lifting way too heavy with bad form, which is a technique issue, not a "gym is bad" issue. Kids get hurt a lot more in regular sports than they do lifting weights.

I heard that going to the gym negatively affects height, is this true?
