Wavy hair issues

I have wavy hair and its a pain to take care of
I try to force it to be straight with oils and a specific way of drying it and it does go straight but then it becomes all puffy
But if i try to get it to be wavy it takes a lot of time and turns half curly half strsight half wavy

What do i do???
