I don't get it, if you're grounded like the coal miners that are grounded in a 'dead now' way, then why aren't you dead? This is unnaccaptable story-telling, absolutely abbyssmal, if you were hired in 1922 to write about the coal miners, all the actors would leave immidietaly after reading your script. I suggest reading a treatise written by Aristotle around 335 BCE called 'Poetics', it'll get you up to speed in how to actually tell a story that isn't completely mediocre, noob.
