Stubborn Body Fat Reduction with Aqualyx

I’m pretty sure we have all heard of things like Aqualyx, lemonbottle, and other fat dissolving treatments. The most common use of these treatments I’ve seen here is it being used in people’s faces to get better angularity. But a lot of us are forgetting we can use these treatments to combat stubborn fat on places aside from our face.

Do not go “muhh just lose weight theory” or some retarded shit in the comments, as if being a lower weight directly means you won’t be dealing with any stubborn fat pockets anywhere. Your fat distribution and pattern are set by genetics and we sadly live in a world where spot fat reduction is impossible. Flailing your arms up and down like a chicken is not going to directly reduce fat in your arms. Fat loss works systematically, NOT locally.

Science behind fat stubborn fat 🐷:

There are so many genetic factors that come into play with areas of stubborn fat. Where your body stores it, the fat it pulls from first when losing weight, insulin sensitivity in those areas, receptors, your fat storage pattern, are all influenced by your genes. If people in your family lineage have fucked looking fat distribution, you will probably inherit that.
Adipocytes (fat cells) contain both alpha-2 receptors and beta-2 receptors. Alpha-2 receptors are the ones that inhibit fat loss by lowering levels of cAMP. The beta receptors work the opposite way and increase cAMP levels and burn fat. Some areas of your body just have a higher alpha-2 receptor to beta-2 receptor ratio which causes stubborn fat. Distribution/density of these receptors are set by genetics and hormones, so you can’t just delete them. However there are ways you can lower their impact. Many of us should already know these ways..
When norepinephrine and epinephrine bind to alpha-2 receptors, it can inhibit fat burning. But when you increase them significantly, their fat burning signal can outweigh alpha-2 mechanism (your beta receptors effects would be dominating the net outcome). And what’s a very well known way people increase nore/epinephrine? Exercising.

Many of these areas of the body have less beta receptors than others. Look familiar? These areas are pretty common insecurities people have

Before you even try to take the easy way out with fat dissolvers, you need to LOSE WEIGHT (WATER). If you are overweight, this guide is not for you. Because if you are then you don’t have “stubborn fat”, you are simply just fat in general. This should be obvious.

Cannula vs needles

Most of us know the difference between the two. Cannulas have blunt tips while needles are sharper. Needles offer more precision but offer a greater risk of trauma. Cannulas on the other hand are considered safer since the bluntness of their tips reduce the risk of puncturing veins/arteries. They glide through tissue so they cause less pain. They even require less injections since you can do the “fanning technique” (although I would not do that technique with aqualyx). Overall, they cause less trauma, so since we’re gonna be dealing with larger areas on the body=lots of injections, these can be handier than needles. It’s all about personal preference tho. Cannulas are simply a comforting option to have

Combining with skin tightening:

I haven’t seen anybody who has tried aqualyx on the face do any skin tightening afterwards. This could be to a variety of factors like skin laxity on the body compared to the face, thicker fat on the body, amount of fat dissolver used, etc. but usually after aqualyx is done in places aside from the face, it is followed up with some kind of skin tightening treatment. RF treatments are frequently paired with fat dissolving, and they are devices that can be purchased. Radiofrequency (RF) treatments produce radio waves that vibrate through the epidermis and target the dermal layers. These waves are heated and cause collagen contractions by loosening them up and causing micro-injuries. It triggers a healing response that helps boost collagen, and will provide a tightening effect on your skin. This wound healing response continues to build and remodel your skin over 3 months. RF microneedling is a combination where they use electrode needles into your skin. Unfortunately, the devices are pricey. But ordering one is significantly cheaper than getting it done. Ultrasound devices also help to tighten skin.

And many more. There’s lots of devices like these online. Of course, these devices won’t be as strong as the ones they use during appointments but they still offer moderate skin tightening. Like I said at the beginning of this guide, this guide is not for fat people. So the people who follow through with the aqualyx shouldn’t be having giant sagging rolls hanging off their bodies when they are done.

Here’s a catch though, RF treatments aren’t permanent. I mean it’s not possible to keep your skin permanently tightened unless you are cutting some off. They have the ability to last up to years, but think ahead to skin removal surgery. Your laxity will eventually return back to normal if you stop using.
I created a thread on RF treatments, and it gives you protocol on how the devices work. Read up, there are some things you should know. These devices can actually cause more fat loss if used in a certain way👀

There are many different things that go into the general details and basics of using aqualyx, and this guide is not focusing on that. However there are plenty of guides about that you can read if you’re new to this topic. This one’s awesome ⬇️

Infovomit pointers I feel like are worth mentioning here:
-“Do not exceed 40 mL per session or 25 mL per anatomical zone to reduce risk of complications.”
-Don’t shower a day before and a day after
-For the typical subq injection, injecting at a 90° angle or 45° angle is fine. If you have less fat in the area, the lower angle is better. But if you have more, the higher angle is better.
-Each injection point should be 1-2cm away from each other (the more you inject, the further away they should be spaced).
-If the skin in your desired area is not pinchable and is instead stretchy, then that is not a feasible area for an injection.
-Since everyone’s body is different, grid markings aren’t really a one size fits all type thing. So feel free to adjust any of the markings I display to your own body anatomy. The markings I’m giving are just standard. Just pay attention to my pointers on how much you should be injecting in total/per site.
-Wait 3 weeks in between sessions
-Since 1ml dissolves 20-30% of the fat, around 2-3 sessions is optimal. But in larger areas (what we will be talking about here), more than three sessions is not uncommon.
-Larger areas can go up to 20mL per session.
-Aspirate every injection just to be safe. Especially in higher risk areas.
-“Qualified candidates include healthy adults with localized fat pockets (1.5–4 cm thick) and good skin elasticity.”
-You always should be injecting at the same angles for each injection point.
-To avoid infection, dispose of the syringe after injecting 2-3 times.

I’ll say this again. Larger areas can go up to 20mL (1-2.5 vials) per session. It’s probably a shocker to hear since in this community people focus on injecting the face, which usually needs only about a half of a vial on average.

What u need:
-Alcohol wipes
-Marker for marking injection sites
-6mm-8mm needles 29-31 gauge
-And/or 10mm cannulas (optional/for comfort)
-Disposable 1 ml syringes
-Aqualyx (mixed with 0.3-1mL of 2% liquid lidocaine if preferred)
-disposable gloves

And here are some of the areas people use fat dissolvers on other than the face!

This is the most common area for subq injections. For dissolver injections here, cannulas are more popular. But you do you

For this area, inject from a 45°-90° angle to hit that subq layer. The fat layer is thicker here.
When it comes to marking the injection site, the stomach is such broad place for stubborn fat. So mark around wherever you feel is the squishiest/fattest area. Individuals with more stomach fat tend to create grids with higher amounts of squares/tinier squares. To inject evenly, just make sure the amount/sizes of the squares on either side of your belly button are symmetrical. Stay 2 inches away from your navel btw.

Inject at 8-10mm deep with a needle (depending on how fat you are). Some people use up to 13-20ml of aqualyx in the lower abdominal region. It’s one of the regions that can require more, so pain is expected.
For the vial you will use during this, add in 1ml of 2% liquid lido. Since this is clearly gonna sting.
I know my drawings are shitty, but pretend these are actually up to scale, and remember to STAY TWO INCHES AWAY FROM YOUR NAVEL.

In this formation, use 0.6mL per site.

View attachment 736

Something like this is common too, here you’d use 1mL per site. But spaced out around 2.5 cm away from eachother. (The more you inject, the more spaced out your injection sites should be.)

Just limit yourself to 1mL per point and ≤15mL in total. I wouldn’t trust anyone to use more than that

The thighs are a moderate-risk zone

Injecting your outer thighs (saddlebags area) is the safest. Inner thighs is risky, and upper inner thighs is a no. Your thighs contain important veins and arteries that can leave you immobile if something were to infiltrate them. They also carry big muscles, so we must pay extra attention with the depth of injection. This is another zone in which cannulas are more popular.

A 5x4 grid is pretty standard, I tried my best to draw it out on this picture.

Inject 8mm deep at a slanted angle and use .6ml at each point.

Generally speaking, limit yourself to ≤15ml in total per saddlebag.

The bingo wings. However the laxity of this area is thin, so bruising and swelling is more common. Lumps and irregularities are also gonna be more visible in thin areas like this, so we won’t be injecting too much. This would also be a one hand job, so getting a friend to do this on you instead would be beneficial.

Mark a 4 by 4 grid on the fattest part (the bingo wing) with each point 2cm away from eachother.

Inject 6mm deep at 45° with 0.5mL.

Generally speaking limit yourself to ≤10mL per arm.

You’d probably have to have someone else do this for you, although I did read some comment by a lady on Reddit who managed to do it by herself. Injecting here is relatively low risk since the thick subq layer here provides a nice safety margin. But being cautious around the edges of the flanks is important, since the fat layer becomes more uneven there.

Trace a 4 by 3 grid. Pretend my shitty drawing looks more realistic (I attempted to sketch what the markings look like from the side on the drawing below)

Inject each point with 0.5mL at 6mm deep at a 45° angle.

Generally speaking, limit yourself to ≤12mL of aqualyx per side.

Brief run down of events:
  • Put on gloves
  • Set up your syringes, preload them up with proper dosages if you prefer
  • Trace your grid markings/points or whatever system you use to know which places to inject
  • Pinch and hold, inject your points (reminder: it’s not normal to feel a sharp pain when u inject. If that’s the case u should readjust), after each one you must wipe it up with alcohol.
  • When finished, massage the area to help spread the aqualyx evenly.
  • It is recommended that you wait up to at least 2 weeks after you are finished to begin skin tightening treatments on the area (like RF).
