[QOTW #8] Can you be "universally attractive" AND "extremely alternative"?

In a lot of appearance based improvement communities, alternative fashion tends to be turned away or unrecommended. Even if the individual giving the advice enjoys the aesthetic. Comments similar to "I like it but I don't think most other people would, and if your goal is to be more widely appealing, you can't do it," etc. Which makes me wanna ask - can you have both? Or does being alternative itself make it impossible to be appealing to most people? Does it change based on generations or culture/societal norms at the time? etc.
Complicated to say but being attractive in a niche means you have a less % of people perceiving you as attractive compared to a mainstream one, BUT it applies on men most of the time. Henry Cavill is universally attractive to everybody but Youngblud or 2hollis are niche attractive and will not be appealing to the main female population.

However it seems lile it doesn't matters for women tho, it's a matter of physical proportions and attractiveness, bones first. E.g. the trendy goth girl who seems to appeal to most men
