Anticipatory Stress, Holy Week, and You (this is a secular post)
This is a very interesting thread. I've read the Bible a lot of times, and never thought deeper about jesus' stress and especially the "bloody sweat" part. I didn't even know it was an actual thing - instead just a fantasy sentence to encapsulate the immense feelings he was having.
I've never seen or heard anyone get to that point, no wonder it's such an insane thing that it only happens before/during executions.
Anticioatory stress is always something i dismiss, which isn't a healthy way to deal with it. I always completely ignore my thoughts and try to remove it from my mind so the stress simply disappears.
Some examples of it is growing up - I'm 18 now, but still feel like im in a body of a 15 year old. I cannot imagine going to work on time every day, i can't imagine having responsibilities like personally going to fill out documents, dentist checkups, doctor checkups and stuff like that - especially since i was never taught adulthood by my parents. Therefore it fills me with a lot of stress when I think about it, but instead of actually dealing with it, i just shut down those thoughts completely - hence the 'living as if i was 15' part.
