What is your stance on alcohol?

There's a lot that can be said about alcohol, especially if you're older, so I'm curious to see everyone's thoughts.

I personally think all alcohol is fine if you're smart about it. There's a big difference between culturally sitting down with your friends/family and having glasses of wine or whiskey..and stumbling around in a house party, blackout drunk on cheap vodka.

After all, the only thing making alcohol so widely hated is the lack of responsibility from the side of the person.

That being said, I'm not much of an alcohol enjoyer, and don't drink at all, except on special occasions like new years eve.
Yeah same i drink on special occasions like christmas, family dinner with the in-laws, an expensive alcohol like whisky, cognac, armagnac etc.

I use a lot of red wine for making ly beef stews (aka boeuf bourguignon) but the alcohol content is evaporated basically
