A lot of people pick males because they think the males are stronger and will go deeper than a female massage therapist (which is mostly true).

But I think your current plan of applying for lower-entry jobs is a good idea. No point on stressing about it until you try it out and see if you get any jobs from it. Try Indeed and Linkedin.
