There was this kickstarter backed game that came out a few years ago called Pillars of Eternity 2. Obsidian made it, the Fallout New Vegs devs. It was awesome and low budget. One of the best pirate games ever. The developers not being able to do big animations would literally put a book on the screen with text that describes what was happening and make you do d&d style skill rolls to determine what was on the next page. Naval combat was basically just a series of text prompts. Really original and creative stuff. But because they chose to go that route and skip the cost of animations, they made the game huge. I, too, was poe2maxxing at one point in my life but it was a completely different game and every time I see the abbreviation of POE2 all I think about is how @Flint won't let me buy loose black powder loaded handguns.
