Inspired by Matty @Matty 's 'Movie megathread'.

Just list you favorite anime and/or manga, and why.

I'll go first: I think Chainsaw Man is peak.

I read the manga, finished Part 1 like early 2025. Loved it, to be honest.

There's a lot to dive into after reading it, it's more of a deep and well-written manga than it appears at first glance.

But, since it's been such a long time since I've read it, I barely remember what happened :C

Chainsaw Man deserves the respect it gets. @Flint hasn't seen it, but every time we hand each other something the phrase "my liege" is used and I don't think he realizes it's a reference to this

Valid af, I watched it recently and loved it.

I rarely watch anime nowadays, but I'm glad I watched Evangelion.

I relate to Shinji a lot as a character, except i'm straight.

This is true. I hate that it's true, but I don't think anything comes close. Maybe the Persona series, but even then it's still not where Evangelion is.

I love the relationship between Power and Denji so fucking much.

It starts of sexual and purely transactional, and slowly develops into something more sibling-like as the series goes on. The best part is how Fujimoto shows instead of telling.

That guy [Fujimoto] is weirdly obsessed with !ncest though. There's Fire Punch, and there's that Imouto No Ane (the latter's not really an !ncest, but still weird dynamics around siblings).

my top 3
-neon genesis evangelion ; The story is incredible there's so much to say about this anime (the story, the character development, the fact that each of the three protagonists represents an aspect of depression,the anime's aesthetics, the psychological introspection , i just love it)

-cow-boy bebop , the unique atmosphere , the background music , the story and the fact that the characters especially the protagonist is really cool and it's super funny at times

And finally Great Teacher Onizuka (gto) ; It's one of the funniest anime I've seen so far; I hesitated to put it in my top 3, but it's really hilarious

I don't really watch anime like I used to, but Death Parade was pretty good. I honestly should re watch some of the animes I've seen previously.

I used to love reading manga, I don't know what happened besides I got older and busier.

I love chainsaw man its so fucking goated i finished reading part 1 way before part 2 even came out years ago then when part 2 came out i was diligently following every chapters biweekly release Sad that it finally ended and i kinda hate the ending. My beloved Asaden

But my personal favourite Anime/Manga is Vinland Saga its genuinely so peak even @OrthotropicSaves mom knows ball I cant wait for the next season man the expedition arc is gonna be insane and i need the anime BADLY rn coz of whats going on in the world🫩

Its a phenomenal anime i cant recommend it enough to EVERYONE but in your case can't you just watch it without subtitles?

I live in a small apartment with very thin walls. I also have a 3D printer, air purifier, and PC contributing noise pollution. To hear it clearly, I'd need the volume loud enough that it would cause my neighbors to hear. It just takes one overheard anime fight scene with lots of "THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM" type screaming for the neighbors to permanently think @Flint is a domestic abuser and I don't want to do that to him
