howdy. i drink a lot of expresso, which is a way more condensed caffeine shot for those who don't know and very powerful for most - i will drink 2-3 expresso shots in a single small mocha frappe from mcdonald's daily, as a point of reference.

i genuinely need something as intense as expresso as an alternative. ideally one that doesn't have such terrible long term health issues, mostly with the heart. i dont mind a crash as long as it could get me through 10-13 hours more or less.

im willing to make drinks at home, i don't mind having to spend a bit extra for imported or higher quality goods. in terms of dosage i'd rather be able to do it myself and mix it with a drink. so pre-packaged drinks are immediately off the list.

i think that's hard to find because everything what makes you feel more energized will "harm" your heart, but i can recommend you yerba mate maybe, or as stupid as it sounds matcha is not bad too, u can also do it at home but i like yerba mate more

I would just reduce your caffeine intake and drink two small cups a day. One in the morning and one in the afternoon.

As intense, you mean the caffeine amount in it or the taste of it ?

1) For alternatives, the green way, you can try with a mix of green Tea, Yerba Maté, Guarana and even Green coffee (using a moka for extraction, preferably).

They contain caffeine, theine, anti-oxydants, guaranine and mateine, but the theobronine (inside the yerna maté) will improves the caffeine, theine, mateine and guaranine absorption without spikes and crashes.

(⚠️ the guarana should always be used at small quantities for his strong amount of caffeine)

2) If you want more volume to drink without increasing your caffeine amount, you can try the decaffeinated coffee, adaptogen mushrooms and chicory roots powder, as both are used in coffee preparations. These 3 things are mostly made into powders so you just have to add hot water and a source of sugar.

(⚠️ the chicory roots contain inulin, which is a useful prebiotic for gut health but some people are allergic to it)

3) If you aren't affraid of pharma-grades molecules, you can also use L-Taurine supplements.
Contrary to a popular belief, L-Taurine is NOT lethal, it's mainly due to people passing away from energy drinks over-consumption, who've contained lethal amounts of caffeine and sugars.

In reality, L-Taurine is a simple amino acid, who, alongside reducing fatigue and boost energy, improve organs, nervous system and immune functions.

(⚠️ If you're also interested in amino acids to improve sleep, L-Glycine does the exact opposite of L-Taurine, while still improving vital functions in the body.)
